Pro Bono

Throughout their careers, Kendall Brill & Klieger attorneys have demonstrated a commitment to pro bono litigation, public service, and leadership in non-profit, public interest organizations. KBK values and promotes such efforts.

Pro bono matters in which our attorneys have participated include efforts by the National Resources Defense Council to enforce compliance with environmental protection laws by the U.S. Navy. This includes arguing before the Supreme Court in Winter v. Natural Resources Defense Council. KBK attorneys are also active in ongoing efforts to end discrimination based on sexual orientation, including with respect to marriage rights and for LGBT youth in schools. We are participating in challenges to California’s initiative-based supermajority requirements for enacting state taxes and to the initiative system itself, and are leading appeals on behalf of indigent immigrants as part of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Pro Bono Program.
