Jessica Cavic is a commercial litigator whose practice focuses primarily on intellectual property rights and complex contractual disputes.  Ms. Cavic regularly represents motion picture studios, television production companies, cable television networks, and individuals.  Her experience includes pre-litigation counseling as well as trial and appellate work.

Representative Matters

Breach of Contract Actions

Represented a media and entertainment conglomerate in a contract action arising from a film financing transaction. Represented a television production company in a contract action arising from a series of real estate transactions. Represented a talent agency in an employment contract dispute arising from the exit of a former senior executive.

Appellate Litigation

Represented a motion picture production company in a major contract and fraud dispute in post-trial and appellate proceedings, resulting in award of attorneys’ fees.

Copyright and Trademark Advice

Provided pre-litigation counsel to sports organization regarding copyright and trademark issues in connection with proposed television production. Advised entertainment companies regarding intellectual property rights issues in connection with the acquisition and exercise of film rights.

Pro Bono Litigation

Facilitated several pro bono family adoptions

Represented a criminal defendant for federal sentencing purposes
